I told you I had a few more big projects coming in 2024 that had yet to be announced. Here's the first one. I've been working on this new NAMOR series for a while now, and it's similar to my last PUNISHER series in that each issue is 30 pages and divided between two artists, with one doing the present day scenes and another handling flashbacks. For Namor, Paul Davidson is tackling the present, as we see Namor locked in a surface world prison, hoping he never again has to enter the seven seas. But as usual, war comes calling. And Alex Lins is doing flashbacks from throughout the Sub-Mariner's long, troubled life, showing us how he ended up becoming the complicated king/hero/villain we know.
There's a new interview over at Marvel.com that sheds some more light on things, story-wise, and also gives you your first look at some interior artwork. But just in general, I've described this series as a combination of my work on PUNISHER and THOR, in that it's a dark and intimate character exploration of Marvel's first true anti-hero and also a sprawling war story that serves to redefine the entire wondrous landscape of the undersea world.
