In stores today. AVENGERS #58 continues the time-traveling "History's Mightiest Heroes" arc, introducing us to another forgotten Avenger from Marvel's past. Last issue, it was Sgt. Szardos, the Soldier Supreme of World War II. This issue, meet the Ghost Ronin, the Samurai of Vengeance, and his lightning swords of penance.
Another killer artistic display from the usual crew of artist Javier Garrón and colorist David Curiel. Seriously, this arc is all slam dunks from those dudes. Bravo, gents.
And I had an easy excuse to re-watch some of my favorite samurai flicks and call it work, like the Lone Wolf and Cub films, the Samurai trilogy, Kurosawa's Yojimbo and Takashi Miike's 13 Assassins.

THE AVENGERS’ QUEST THROUGH TIME CONTINUES!
Japan, the Edo Period. They say he walks by night, wielding a blade forged by hellfire. And where he wanders, the penance flows, like fountains of blood. He is the fabled Ghost Ronin, the Samurai of Vengeance. And alongside the Avengers, he will make his final stand against the lightning swords of the devil himself.
